Born January, 1945 (three months before WWII ended) in Copenhagen, Denmark, Sten began painting at an early age. He traveled to the California coast in ‘79, and what was to be a temporary visit became a permanent move as he fell in love with the landscape and weather.

For over 40 years, he has been making a living gardening in the Bay Area and painting during his spare time. Sten’s colorful abstract paintings reflect Northern California’s beautiful nature and America’s hippie culture through his style of layering bright and dark colors.

After decades of never showcasing his work, a seasonal release will be curated for you.
